Venture Leader – Concept Development
Her role at 1848 Ventures:
Patty focuses on creating new concepts that can be developed into stand-alone ventures. She partners with the 1848 ventures team and applies a human-centered approach to rapidly iterate from customer needs to MVPs. She leads the exploration of feasibility, viability, and desirability of each venture to ensure that new concepts truly address business pain points and align with 1848 ventures priorities.
What she loves about the work we do:
“I love that we are partnering with businesses and focusing on creating solutions that can solve real pain points and challenges. We have the long-term view in mind to ensure that we don’t make rushed and short-sighted decisions. During challenging times, what we do for small businesses is especially meaningful.”
Which of our “How we show up” behaviors resonate with her most:
“Passionate about solving problems and goal-oriented. We are a collaborative bunch who love to innovate to make the world a better place. It’s not about our individual ambitions, but rather what we could achieve together.”
Patty went through multiple self reinventions - from biochemist to consultant to intrapreneur and found her passion in an innovation role. She founded Mercer’s (a global consulting firm) innovation hub, launched a digital product based on her patent, and was invited to the White House as a subject matter expert to help shape policies.
What she’s passionate about:
Creating something from nothing to solve complex problems and challenges.
Patty enjoys getting involved in different ventures as an angel investor and advisor - from a blockchain based alternative investment platform, Ed tech, biotech, pre-A fund, to a wine bar and bakery. She enjoys learning about different industries and helping businesses grow. Patty and her family, including her 3-year-old daughter, love to travel and learn about different cultures.
